Villa Franciacorta.jpg

Villa Franciacorta

The vineyards of Villa Franciacorta, covering a total area of 100 hectares, lie entirely within the municipality of Monticelli Brusati, with the exception of the vineyards in Ronco (1.55 hectares), at Provaglio d'Iseo (1.8 hectares) and Persaga (1.48 hectares). Many years of careful study of zoning, trials with different wine clones and a careful selection of the land have led them to choose the current surface area of 37 hectares of vines. Relying on this experience they undertook a slow and careful recovery of much difficult land, such as the Gradoni hillside, which offers unrivalled opportunities for producing quality wines. The soil is composed of sedimentary clay and stratified marl with fossil-rich rocks that bear witness to the primordial presence of the sea. The Bianchi family’s philosophy of life, which runs through every choice of the production chain, can be clearly evidenced from the use of organic and natural substances in vineyard management, controlled revegetation and green manure, short pruning systems and an overall respect for the land and care of the environment.

Champagne Pierre Morlet.jpg

Champagne Pierre Morlet

In the heart of France's Champagne region, the Morlet family has been handcrafting award-winning Champagnes for four generations. The Morlet vineyards, all of which bear the prestigious designation of either Grand Cru or Premiers Cru, sit side-by-side with the vineyards of such famous Champagne producers as Krug, Veuve Clicquot-Ponsardin, Bollinger, Pommery, Mumm and Moet & Chandon. The deep, chalky subsoil and temperate microclimates of these hillside vineyards provide wonderful and unique growing conditions for both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, conditions which the Morlet’s have been taking advantage of since the 1800's when they first planted them.

Emphasis is placed on the natural characteristics of each vineyards' terroir as well as the personality of each vintage. Applying old world techniques, the first fermentation occurs in French oak barrels, a rarely used method practiced only by producers of the finest Champagnes. The Champagnes are then aged in underground caves for a minimum of three years and are released upon maturity. Powerful and harmonious, Pierre Morlet Champagnes gracefully age into unique and truly magnificent wines.

Champagne Dore.jpg

Champagne Doré

The Maison Doré’s history is steeped in tradition and esteem. It all began in 1928. The Maison has passed from generation to generation of winemakers in the Doré family for almost a century. The Doré estate is located in the village of Ludes, a Premier Cru site in the Montagne de Reims region, and extends over 4 hectares.

It comprises fifteen plots, each bearing a unique and evocative name: le Gué du berger (French for ‘the shepherd’s crossing’), Aventures (‘adventures’), Garennes (‘rabbit warrens’), Haute Plante (‘tall plant’), to name just a few. With a clay-limestone soil, the vines are well established on a marly base, which lends the wine its finesse and intensity. All of their wines are produced, blended and bottled on the estate.

Doré Champagne strikes a subtle balance between complexity and freshness. The Maison offers a range of three wines, so there is a blend and story for everyone.

Château Croze de Pys

In 1773, Joseph Roche cultivated vines from Auxerrois in Saint Médard Catus, a place known as “Causse de Cahors”. It was the golden age of Cahors and the vineyard reached 4,000 hectares. The Lot, which was navigable at that time, allowed barges to transport barrels to Bordeaux from where they left for England.

In 1877, Auguste Roche saw all his vines completely destroyed by Phylloxera. For many winegrowers there was an exodus but he decided to stay. His son Emest, married to a winegrower's daughter from Crayssac, decided to replant Auxerrois grafted on American rootstock resistant to parasites, but a misfortune never comes alone, in 1956 the big frosts took over and destroyed many plots.

René was not discouraged and decided in 1966 to take over an abandoned vineyard located in the town of Vire sur Lot; Château Croze de Pys. He planted Auxerrois, Merlot and Tannât. On this soil made up of a thick layer of gravel and sand, the Auxerrois will quickly express the best of itself.

Located between the municipalities of Castagneto Carducci and Bibbona, the 25 hectares are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot; varieties that have made Bolgheri and its wines famous all over the world.

Sapaio’s philosophy is experimentation and innovation with research directed at new expressions of Bordeaux grapes in the Bolgheri region. Their objective is the creation of wines that combine power, elegance, and longevity. The two wines they produce, both Bordeaux-type blends, are created by combining various selections of grapes grown in the different vineyards. The names of the wines Sapaio and Volpolo derive from the names of two ancient Tuscan grape varieties, Sapaia and Volpola, chosen to promote the local origin of the products, starting right from their appellations.
